Captain D.C. Anderson
Capt. D.C. Anderson is a USCG Master, Oceans. He holds an MS in The Economics of Marine Transportation from SUNY Maritime and an undergraduate degree in Economics from UCONN. He has worked in the oil industry for 40 years. In 1988 he started the first non-union tug and barge company to come into the New York area in over 70 years. He is an expert in the area of alternative energy for use in the marine industry. He has lectured on alternative energy and climate change at universities like Cornell and Queens College and at institutions like the United Nations and the Organization Of Non-Aligned Nations.
While in graduate school Anderson developed a computer concept to monitor a ship’s speed/power/performance that is still in use today. He holds one patent and he was also the first person in the world to design, build and operate a completely cost-effective system for auxiliary wind propulsion for use on modern merchant ships. He is a published author of The Survivor’s Manifesto and was the host of Captain Anderson’s Global Show, a weekly call-in Cable TV program on climate change.
In October 2019 Captain Anderson spoke at “The Responsible Business Summit West 2019.” During this two day conference, industry leaders spoke about the critical importance of climate change, including many C-Suite executives from Fortune 200 companies.
